Something I didn't know about Alexandria
I knew that Alexander the Great established the city of Alexandria (naming it after himself, of course) somewhere around 300 BC or so. But, I didn't realize that he made Alexandria the center of his empire. I assumed, since he was the emperor of the Greco-Roman empire, that he would maintain the center as Rome. So, this makes me wonder, how much Greco-Roman influence is in the buildings that still visible when touring?
