Hurghada - a beautiful city? If you think half finished buildings everywhere is beautiful maybe so. Hurghada is called the Bride of the Red Sea - at the moment is is the rather tatty bride of the Red Sea. IF it ever gets finished it could be beautiful.

Now before you all jump down my throat for being honest, I actually live and work here and have done so since 2003.

The beaches are wonderful, the sea is amazing, the restaurants are plentiful, cheap and excellent. The nightlife rocks.

Don't let me put off anyone coming to visit my adopted city, the new 'touristic' area is clean, pedestrianised with a good selection of shops, restaurants, hotels etc.

I have chosen to make my home here and expect to see out the rest of my days here.
