How long do I need?

How many days should I plan to spend in Alexandria? What amount of time would you recommend for seeing all the major sights and getting a taste of local culture?

I guess you need two days in Alex to see the high lights and spend sometimes by the beach.

tell em if you need to know the high lights of Alex.

tell me :)

I have a guide book, but it would be more beneficial having someone who is experienced tell me what the highlights are. Any hidden gems I should know about? What is the beach like in Alexandria? Is it safe for children? Thanks.

Of course you are right , specially becasue this kind og guide books are not updated all the time. i still remember once i saw in a book that a taxi will cost 2 L.E for a tourists from the Pyramids to the Musuem. that is was most propably 30 years ago.

the high lights of Alex are the ctacomb, Alex library, kaytbay citadel, the jewlery musuam , Montazah Park.

and sure beaches there are very safe in some places. i like the montazah beach very much where at least you find some good services.

i hope you enjoy your visit .

I've not heard of the jewelry museum in Alexandria. What types of jewelry are there? Is it the jewelry that would have been worn by Pharaoh's or is it more modern jewelry?
