Lightbulb Sights of Alexandria

I was in Alexandria late last year, here are a few pictures from my visit.

I found the city in some ways to be tired looking, lot of the buildings on the cornice were in bad state, although some new ones were being built there too.

Far too many high rise apartments for my liking.

The thing that I really hated are the roads there, especially the one some cleaver person planned to put between the buildings and the beach, which means the people have to take life in their own hands to get to the beach, as it's like a motorway, I think it's about 6 lanes to cross in crazy traffic.

There are a few underpasses but they are about a few kilometers apart

Thanks for sharing your photos! I particularly like the one of the beach. I'd cross six lanes to get to it, even though it would be scary.

Well, I guess they have to put all those people somewhere, and high-rises are they way to go. They don't look too horrible in the photos you've posted, but there really does seem to be many of them.

Wow, thank you for posting these! Not how I'd pictured Alexandria at all! The architecture in the second picture is incredible! What's the influence? Seems to be a mixed influence?

I was rather surprised to see all the highrises myself. Not that they look bad I just never pictured them when thinking of what Alexandria would look like. That beach right about now I would love to be there. Thanks so much for the great pictures.

That makes two of us! It keeps snowing here and then I see such a beautiful beach and it makes me want to pack up immediately.

Mushtaq do you have any more pictures from your trip that you'd be willing to share?
Those were really nice and not like the usual pictures I see.
