I saw an ad online that was about teaching English in Egypt.

I was wondering if there's much of a market for teaching English as a second language (ESL) there?

I've known of some people doing this to travel and live in other areas for a while.

I have a friend that did this but it was in Japan. He actually has been to quite a few places to teach English. I am curious also if there is a need for this in Egypt?

I always thought that would be a neat thing to do. However, I'm guessing it should be done while you're single.

You're are right it should be done when you're single. This friend that I am talking about had a girlfriend that actully went over with him for awhile but she just didn't care to live there. They ended up breaking up because he had signed a years contract and could not really get out of it.

I have an Egyptian friend who attended school in England so has a British accent when he speaks English. He's now semi-retired in Cairo and teaches English there. Apparently, there's quite a market for services as he's staying busier than he actually wanted to!

I have an Egyptian friend who goes from Egypt to America and back. He learned Egypt and knows American from the traders. The traders need it so they can communicate with their customers. They also know lots of other languages too. If they didn't know a language it would be wasted money. So they basically know every single language.
