Chicken Hawawshi
Main ingredients : Chicken, Shami bread, Spices
Time of preparation : 30 minutes
Time of cooking : 15 minutes
Serving : 4
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Yoghurt,or sour cream
- 2 tbsp Corn Oil Crystal
- 2 tbsp Coriander,fresh and chopped
- 1 tsp Curry
- 1/2 tsp Chicken Spices Salt and Pepper
- 3 Spring Onions,sliced
- 4 Shamy Bread,medium size
- 2 Garlic Cloves,crushed
- 1 Chicken
- 1 Green Pepper,diced
- 1 Red Chili Pepper,finely chopped (optional)
Directions:- Remove bones and skin from chicken and cut into small strips (like shawerma).
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add chicken strips and cook for about 5 minutes stirring constantly.
- Add onion, garlic, chili pepper, curry, marinade mix, salt and pepper. Stir for another 2-3 minutes. You can add ¼ cup water if mixture becomes too dry.
- Open Shamy bread half the way through (like a sandwich). Fill with chicken mixture. Sprinkle coriander on the surface. Repeat with the rest of bread.
- Heat oven to 220 C. Put hawawshi bread on a baking sheet and put in oven for 5 minutes. Serve immediately with 1 tbsp of yoghurt or sour cream beside each hawawshi.
