Anyone tried koshery كشري?

That was the first thing I ate when I arrived in Alexandria. It consists of lentils, pasta, onions, rice. Its quite simple but satisfying.

Hello Ronin

Yeah …last time I tried Koshery was yesterday

It’s very famous here in Egypt and considers important dish for most of the Egyptian as it is not so expensive and satisfying at the same time…. So it serves most those who work hard for the whole day and you can see Koshery vendors a lot in streets.

also the tourists like to try it and see the Koshery man’s expert and his speed in preparing the dishes….

My mom as well is an expert although she cooks a very delicious Koshery but sometimes me and my friends like to have it in koshary’s restaurant it has different taste plus the whole atmosphere of the place itself ,it's really nice.

thanks Ronin

Warm Regards

I love Koshary but it takes so long to prepare and cook that I don't make it very often.

I have tried it and I like the different varieties you get in different areas, but I have noticed that the 'well off' people tend to be snooty and couple of times laughed when I suggested that we have that instead of going to some restaurant.
