What About "Day Life"?

I am aware that Hurghada is excellent where night life is concerned, but what about for someone who doesn't have much of an interest in that? What are some attractions for visitors more interested in other things? I know about the underwater gardens and aquatic activities... anything else?

Oh dear now you have hit a sore spot. Yes the underwater life is fantastic. There is a pretty good Water Park Centre. Go karting. Horse riding. Jeep Safari's. Is that enough to be going on with?

To be honest most people who visit Hurghada only come for the water and the nightlife.

Are you planning on visiting soon?

That's certainly enough to start a great itinerary! Thank you, cynic. Can you recommend some great lodging and restaurants?

To answer your question, "soon" is relative... we're thinking early in 2008 because of all the planning involved. If you mean soon like in the next few months, I *wish!* but not that soon, no.

Hi Katharina,

there are a lot of day attractions in Hurghada, my favourite place there is a beach called Mahmeya. it the most wonderful place i been to in my life. very nice clean beach with nice soft music all over , open buffet lunch and all kind of drinks including alcohols. not very expensive for a day.

Also now u can do an over day trip to St. Catherine in Sinai using the ferry boat to cross the red sea from Hurghada to sharm then two hours driving. really nice Excursion too .

you can do some advanture trips as well during the day , like Quad runners, jeep Safari in the afternoon , or u can join and trip to Luxor for one day to see the main attractions.

Enjoy your holiday

xxx

Music and open buffet on a clean beach?! Well you certainly have me
convinced... that sounds absolutely wonderful!

"Adventure trips"? That sounds right up my alley, lol! That beach sounds excellent, too. Are there any pictures of it online?

Mahmaya or Paradise Island is a peace of heaven on earth. About 45 minutes boat ride from the hustle and bustle of Hurghada. The water is warm, the fish are fantastic. Lunch on the Island is included as part of the tour. As it is a protected Island with a limited number of visitors per day, it is immaculately clean. Well worth the money.
Day time restaurants, lots of those. Pitta Sphinx just round from McDonald's on Sheraton Road does both Egyptian and European food which won't break the bank. For You also on Sheraton Road is a great place to sit, relax, eat and drink and just watch the world go by. Meshmesha in the recently pedestrianised area up Villages Road is another excellent eating place. Those three certainly won't break the bank.
The special attraction for me by going to Meshmesha for the main course, is just opposite is the Cinnabon cafe. Their hot chocolate and cinnabon is to die for.
Bulls on Villages Road has a large selection of food from Pizza, Pasta, Egyptian, English, Chinese. Again prices are very reasonable.
Hope these are enough to be going on with.
When arriving at Hurghada airport you will be handed a little booklet with lots of useful information and advertisements.

If you mean the thumbnail picture you posted, it worked beautifully.
That is sooo gorgeous! There aren't many places where water is that
gorgeous color. When I pulled the picture up bigger, it was
breathtaking.
