Hi everyone,

My name is Nour, I am French and married to an Egyptian guy.
He is international Hockey player in the Egypt national team and he recently moved to UK to play for an english club.
He met the chairman of the club on line on the internet and they agreed about the procedure for his coming to england. This guy sent him an invitation letter for his visa in which he confirms that my husband will be fully supported by the club, but it is another story now as he arrived 3 weeks ago and that they refuse to give him money and ask him to work illegaly in restaurants. He has no work permit but an employment visa with this club which refuses to take its responsibilities, he wants to go and find another club but they try to catch him saying that he cannot play with another club because his visa is valid for this club only.
I am very worried because he is in a bad situation and I was wondering if maybe there were some people in this forum who could give me some tips so as to know what to do? there must be a solution, these people cannot keep doing this!

Hi, it looks like the club has offered your husband a work permit based on him playing for the club, so his work permit is only valid for this club.

I think he needs to seek professional legal advice on this as without know all the details it's difficult to know what his options are.
