New member intro
I'm Tony, living in St Petersburg Russia. I am British, my wife is Russian. I have lived here in Russia 15 years so speak fluent Russian
Being tired of the cold winters in Russia and having a bit of spare cash, my wife and I bought a very nice 2 bedroom 135 m2 apartnent in Raballa (or AlAhiaa as it is also known ) , on the Cornich Road 7 km out of Hurghada going towards El Gouna. It is in a private , gated , guarded compound of villas and apartments, very well maintained, good gardens, good sized clean private beach with coral reef just off the beach. Air conditioned, insect screens, nice bathroom and there is also a balcony overlooking the pool and beach. We are well pleased with it although we paid a bit tooo much for it . (which has easily been made up now)
So, we bought another property across the road in Mubarak 7 , much larger but unfinished. That will be my wife's project whilst I do a spot of fishing. I am looking for a good boat! The purchase of the villa went very smoothly and I have no complaints about price regarding that purchase
My wife and I intend firstly to spend some of the winter months of Russia in our apartment, finish the villa and then live in it, and let the apartment. It is empty now
I love Hurghada, but in Raballa I am just far enough away from its noise and bustle to suit me. I am 60 so don't go bopping at night clubs every night!

Hi Tony and welcome to the Forum. I and my wife live in Antalya Turkey so we are only a 2.5 hour flight away. We love Egypt and have been every year for the past ten. Just looking now for a holiday in April next year.Never been to Russia yet but the flights are very cheap from here. So maybe I will get there this year.

Thanks Ian
If you fdo make it to Russia , contact me first. I might be able to save you a lot of money of you come to St P. We have a beautiful, large (160m2), 2 bedroom modern flat here, right on Nevsky Prospect, which is vacant 6 months or more of the year. It is within 3 minutes walk of 2 Metro Stations and ths main shopping area is one minute way.
My wife has been to Antalya several times but i have never been there, or to Turkey

Welcome to the Forum Tony.
If you ever get the chance to visit Turkey YOU MUST
it's a beautifull country. I too have an apartment in Alanya
and try to get over there from England once a year.
Hope you enjoy the Forum and if you scout about you will
also find Ian and myself on the Turkish Living Forum which
you can find down the left hand side of this page.

Thanks for the offer Tony. Will certainly bear it in mind. As the others have said. Make an effort and come to Antalya. It's the Turkish Riveria.

thx mate for ur answer
me being an egyptian makes me subjected to the Egyptian traditions,i dont own my place yet in egypt but i have a rented flat in a city near by cairo, the reason was that i had to get a place for my wife as this was her request (think of this ,i live In australia,i visit egypt 6 weeks per year but i have a rented flat up there ) makes no sense i know but what can i say,its not a financial burden but just doesnt make sense, anyway i already booked my flight in jan & i hope i will be able to buy my place ,i am already in the process of searching & i already found a couple of places,so wish me good luck
