Living,shopping and cooking

Hi
Thanks for all the replys to my questions.I feel much happier about the sort of properties available but as an Egyptian novice, how are the supermarkets, the range of shops etc.Sorry about those questions but I love to shop and cook so its important.
The other main question is how the local egyptians feel about the "flood" of people from other countries coming in and buying property.I can think of a couple of countries where the perception is that outsiders are not too welcome. If you are going to live in a country all year round then a good interaction with the local population is important.
So what do you think?
John
