HI i wonder if you can help me i am new to this forum and i need some assistance with a problem i have. I am staying in Aswan in November for 6 days with my Egyptian husband (we have an orfi marrigae made in Luxor) i am wanting to find somewhere for us to stay for our vacation together for the 6 days but i am having problems finding a hotel that will let us stay together on this type of marriage contract. Any ideas of places we can stay. thanks xx

I did find some info online as follows:

To obtain an Orfi marriage certificate you need to visit a lawyers office in Egypt with your partner and passports.

The only way around all of this is for you to privately rent an apartment, house or villa although this is deemed immoral under Islamic Law. The owners of private apartments etc are unlikely to question whether you are married and therefore allow you to stay in their property.

The majority of hotels will ask you for proof of your marriage and may not consider an Orfi arrangement. They are more likely to accept an official marriage certificate. Therefore it is much easier to privately rent.

here is a trick that works...believe me.

get a room early that day...then go in and have hiom come up like an hour later....the classier hotel wont stop him.

another plan, just the both of u get ur own room then slide slide slippity slide on over to his.

if it doesnt interest you this way, your best bet then would be the rent a flat.

Can anyone tell me the current cost of an Orfi Marriage Contract? i have a friend that would like to get one with her Egyptian boyfriend but she has been told that they are quite expensive by her boyfriend. I think she is being deceived as mine was very cheap but i don't know if they have gone up considerably with the cost of living rising so much in Egypt in gereral.Can anyone help with this?
