You are never more than 20 minutes away from any of the temples or tombs. You can see Luxor temple from quite a few of the hotels, and most of them are no more than a few minutes walk. It will take up to 20 minute to the Valley of the Kings from the ferry point on the West Bank. Karnak Temple is just a 10 minute taxi ride from the centre of Luxor, and just a few minutes walk from the Hilton Hotel.

Cynic........ hate to tell you but Nefertari's tomb has not been open to the public for a few years now, and is not likely to be open to general viewing in the near future. But you are right, it IS stunning! I managed to see it just once.

I dropped lucky cynic...... I have been visiting Luxor for the last 9 years and only once did I find Nefertari's tomb opened. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
