Charter flights from UK to Hurghada

I was looking for a quick trip to Hurghada, but couldn't find many flights from London area.

I would have thought there would be lots of choice to Hurghada or am I not looking in the right places?

I finally booked a flight with XL.com for £190 including taxes and other fees, they even charge £6 for paying with a credit/debit card online, this you can't avoid as there is no other way to make a payment

Anyway I managed to get a £5 discount by using the promotion code 'divers'

Any suggestions for cheap flights to Hurghada from London area for future?

Don't British Airways have a direct flight to Hurghada? They used to, and its got to be a better bet than charter, especially XL. But it is scheduled, so it will be more expensive.

It looks like BA are only running winter schedule, during summer only direct the flights from London I can find are on Fridays from XL (yuk) Thomascook & Thomson's, I just found another one advertised on the left on this site is Astraeus Astraeus

Never heard of them before, maybe they just block book on one of the other carriers above?

They are a charter airline used by other tour companies such as Thomson. I had a friend used them and she said the flight was one of the better charters.

Check this link....... mostly the reports are good

for future use while i know it might be too late now , try to use redseaflight.com

i guess it is much cheaper if you book it like two weeks before the departure.

I checked their site, unfortunately they only seem to fly to Sharm.

I have used SwissAir to Cairo couple of times now and then taking an internal flight to Hurghada, a bit long winded but not too bad.

The only real hassle is Cairo airport, as the Domestic and Internationals are few miles away and the shuttle buses are not easy to locate of use, there is so much hassle from touts, it really is off putting to deal with all that crap as soon as you land in Egypt. Not a very good first impression in my opinion and the government should do something about it.

There are signs that things might improve in the future, as the new International terminal is under construction, and I noticed that new a new hall for domestic flights is open which is nice and comfortable with Free WIFI connection.
