We have been to Luxor 3 times now and absolutely love it and are looking at buying an apartment there. We have seen one just off Shara El Salakhana St and were wondering if anybody could tell us about the area. Thanks in advance.

I dont know that street even though I know Luxor pretty well. Have you seen the apartment? If so, how did the area feel? Is it an egyptian area or an expat area?

The street is behind the train station, we have seen the apartment once and it seems to be an egyptian area, we were just wondering if any one knew the area or had bought there.

Is it one of Mara's flats? If so, I believe they are very nice. The area is fine as a place to live. Yes, it is egyptian with only a few expats living there. You should be able to get a good price there. Much less than buying on the West Bank or in Fayrouz
