Naama Bay
Couple of pictures of the shops and cafes in Naama Bay, there are a huge number of bars and restaurants, cafe and shops, as well as the hotels.
Good lively place to walk around as most of the area is closed to cars.

There is certainly plenty of choice when it comes to eating out, from McDonalds/KFC/Hardrock cafe to egyptian/libian/italian and chinese. If you want a brilliant chinese resturant there is one situated next to Pasha Nightclub(Big Red Bus Outside) in central Naam, its upstairs to the left of the club, excellent food/service and even better prices. Also in Naam Bay is a good Duty Free shop, for beers/wines/spirits its across from Hardrock Cafe going back towards the main road, its open to anyone and no passports needed.

Blech, it's all stormy here and that place looks amazing right now. It actually reminds me a lot of Los Angeles with the overall look and feel of it, the pom-trees probably don't hurt either.

Naama Bay Peace Road
My friends are telling me that the Sharm authorities will close the Peace Road to private traffic. Does anybody have any news about this. Should the road be closed how would we get from Naama Bay to Old Market and Hadaba

I thought you could only use the Duty Free shops within 24 hours of arrival and your passport is stamped because the authorities only allow duty free sales every 3 months and then only if you have been out of Egypt

I think the plan is to use the road up near the industrial area, lot of new developments going on there, at the moment the area between the Peace road and the Industrial area is mainly empty. but I think soon it will all be built up.

We had been in Sharm for 5 days before we found the duty free shop, everyone was using it and no passports were required. We were told the same thing but even in Taba were able to use the duty free shop during the second week of holiday but did need the passports.

sharon,
the reason for this is that the shop you mean in neama bay is not a duty free shop. it is only alcohol shop that selling local alcohol. so u do not really need a passport. i am really surprised that u could use ur passport in Taba for duty free shop, becasue it is only valid for 48 hours of the arrival time unless u went to Ilat or petra then they consider a new 48 hours.
anyway guys who wants a drink ?
hehehe
